Material Inspiration

.

For me this show is just about worth a trip to NYC.

Starting tomorrow at Salon 94 Freemans, British fashion designer Duro Olowu curates Material, a pop-up shop and gallery show that includes designs from Olowu's Spring 2012 collection, alongside objects – art and otherwise – that have inspired him. Assembled in a similar vein as the items found in Olowu's shop in London will be a selection of vintage and contemporary photography, textiles, furniture, music, books, found objects, and contemporary art – including illustrations by the lovely and talented Bella Foster. Need vs. Want

.
A selection of rare Japanese photo books as highlighted by Abe. Want. Really bad. Go here to browse and purchase.

This one – Daido Moriyama's Karyudo (Hunter: For Jack Kerouac), which comes with a limited edition print – is a steal at $3000.
