Off the Shelf

.

Um. So much for every week. What can I say – life gets in the way sometimes. (Life is also getting in the way of very attentive photoshop work – or having the patience to mess with this ridiculously annoying "improved" Blogger platform...sorry.) Anyway, really feeling Glen Luchford lately, and this one has been on heavy rotation.

Glen Luchford (Steidl, 2009).

Purely by coincidence, this morning AnOther magazine posted a piece on Glen Luchford's new book, Damaged Negatives (Dashwood, forthcoming in December). Read about it here

Butterfly Effect

.
Another one I've been meaning to post for a while. One of my favorite images from the Spring/Summer 2012 campaigns.

Image of the Day

.
Robert Adams, Kerstin Enjoying the Wind,
East of Keota, Colorado, 1969.
As recently reported by Carol Vogel in the NY Times,
Adams has selected 169 prints from his personal
collection, covering the span of his career, for acquisition
by the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

Two comments:

1. This is the kind of photo that made me pine for the West when we lived on the East Coast.
2. Every time I start thinking about paring down my 7-day subscription to the Times, I get the Friday arts section and change my mind.

I'm a little lukewarm on the heel, and they are definitely better in brown, but from the front? Dope.

Best Foot Forward

I've been collecting inspiration for a styling project and have been thinking about Ricardo Tisci's Fall 2008 ready-to-wear collection for Givenchy. These would fit right in.

"So I think I'm not going to go . . . because I'd rather kill myself."

.
I am in love with this show already, and I've only seen the "premiere preview." The trailer doesn't do it justice. Serious future guilty pleasure. And just in time for gallery season!

"Gallery Girls" on Bravo.
Premieres Aug. 13. An auspicious date.
