Francesca Woodman: Polka Dots, Providence, Rhode Island, 1976 (Gelatin silver print, 13.3 x 13.3 cm. © George and Betty Woodman, courtesy George and Betty Woodman). On view at the Guggenheim through June 13 in the first major US exhibition of her work (originally at SFMoMA). I walked through it twice last week and I wish I could see it again.

Francesca Woodman: Untitled, Rome, Italy, 1977-1978 © The Estate of Francesca Woodman, Courtesy George and Betty Woodman and Victoria Miro Gallery
I've posted before about the photographer Francesca Woodman, and about The Woodmans, a recent documentary film on her short but immensely full life, and how it has affected her family – and I wanted to mention that the film is coming to Northwest Film Forum this weekend.

Untitled self-portrait by photographer Francesca Woodman, Rome, ca.1978.
In a new documentary, The Woodmans, Francesca Woodman's family discusses her life and her intensely creative but sadly short-lived photography career, as well as their own lives since she committed suicide in 1981 at the age of 22. Here's the trailer:
So far I think The Woodmans has only screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, where it won Best New York Documentary, but info should be forthcoming from thewoodmansmovie.com, and you can use the Google to see more of Francesca Woodman's work.
