While we're on the subject of borrowing inspiration, some images from the New York Public Library's Nooney Brooklyn Photographs collection, a document of families and individuals in their Brooklyn homes in the late '70s. (These were all taken in our last hood, Fort Greene, but the collection spans the borough.) Click to enlarge for details.

Trouble, with a Capital T
.
A new online shop from Wary Meyers Decorative Arts?? The blog is already like perusing the best, most impeccably, charmingly curated yard sale ever. (Those who know me understand that that awkward sentence is meant as the highest compliment.)
A few selections from the current inventory:
Vintage vinyl Courreges coat.
(I liberated this coat - in tan - from a
vintage store in Florida a few years ago,
but the black clearly wins.)
Like I said, this spells Trouble.
Peruse all the goods (more on their way) here.
